Spirit Creatures from Stone, Bone, Metal, and Glass

Join artist facilitators, Brian Nichols and Jane Lowbeer, as they guide you through the process of creating companion spirit creatures, dolls, talismans, or objects to travel with us on our personal life journeys.

Participants will be invited to connect to their own sense of the mystical, spiritual or shamanic selves, however they might understand that.

We will work with bones, stone, glass, rusted metal, feathers, wood, beads, worn fabric, words and more. Come with your own special objects and/or select from Brian and Jane’s personal collection.

This workshop is for art makers of all ages and skill levels, and is intended for people who are transitioning to another place in this life, or for those guiding others who are experiencing change.

Workshop Outcomes:

  • A day of fun and relaxation with a small group of like-minded art makers

  • An opportunity to explore a variety of new (old) materials and create objects that can act as go-betweens between this world and the next

  • To expand your knowledge of the power of metaphor as a tool for personal growth and awareness

  • To create one or more ceremonial objects with personal meaning

A note from facilitators:

Art making in community is an opportunity... to ask yourself questions, to create dialogue with others and with your art, to bring people together, to self represent, to process experiences, and to feel. We hope you will join us.

Registration for this event will open Monday, October 16 at 10AM EST
